EXCHANGE
This would be an Exchange program between a High School in the Seacoast and Colegio San Antonio in Caceres, Spain. A wonderful opportunity for students to live with a Spanish family, attend a different High School, travel around the Extremadura region and experience Spanish culture in general. As well as building lifetime friendships.
The program is for students between the ages 15 and 18.
The candidates would be selected based on their Spanish level, attitude and cultural interest.
The dates are: the Spanish students would come to the USA at the beginning of September for two weeks, and the American students would go to Spain during the winter or spring break.
Since the length of the program is thirteen days, students would only miss 3 days of their curriculum. Students would attend Colegio San Antonio every day for half a day following a specific schedule having their own Spanish classes for which they will have a native teacher. As for the accommodation, the students would be living with the Spanish students’ families’ participating in the program. For example, the Spanish student would be living with one of the American students’ family and vice versa. This will also create a closer relationship between the two students as well as encourage a complete immersion in the culture.
We do outside activities everyday (weather permitting) and field trips to visit some of the most important cities in the area. After school the student goes back to the family and spends the rest of the day with them.
The program is run by ILCEX (International Language and Cultural Experience), a company run by Carmen Duran, a native of Spain, who has been living in Portsmouth for over 30 years.
Muchas gracias for your time.
