HOSTING
Hosting an exchange student is an exceptionally rewarding experience. Other than making a friend for life, you are able to impart wisdom, knowledge, experience and the American way of life on the student. In return, you will learn about the student’s cultural, life, heritage, traditions and an opportunity to learn/practice the Spanish language. There is nothing else as unique any family can do as welcoming a foreign exchange student into their home and heart. Hosting an exchange student will enrich the family’s life and will acquire them a much deeper understanding of the world.
You would have another family in another country:-)
I compensate the family with $500.
The students have a pretty busy schedule like: English classes, a variety of activities and Excursions: we go to NYC for 3 days, water Rafting for 2 days, Boston, Kayaking….
The American families are also welcome to join us to any of the excursions and activities,as a matter a fact, I encourage the families to join us. The activities are a lot of fun. This is a great opportunity for the Spaniards as well as for the American family.
I would be very grateful to you if you could open your doors an offer the Students this wonderful experience. I am the coordinator and I am available 24/7 in case any problems arise.
Responsabilities:
➤ Integrate the student into your home and treat him/her like another member of the family
➤ Provide a room to sleep. If the student is the same sex as your son or daughter, they can share rooms, otherwise the student will need a separate room.
➤ Provide 3 meals a day.
➤ Provide transportation to and from the English classes.
➤ In case of an emergency, you will call the coordinator and if the coordinator can not be reached, you would act as you would with any of your family members.
